Campus Support Initiatives

Three new departments will facilitate opportunities to foster a welcoming university climate through professional development, employee engagement, and student and employee success initiatives, including the Comet Scholars Program.

Training and Education
Programs 

The Department of Training and Education Programs will focus on SB 17-compliant staff and faculty trainings related to policy compliance and professional development opportunities that help foster the creation of a welcoming university climate, including the UNITE Mini Conference.

Student and Employee
Success Initiatives 

The Department of Student and Employee Success Initiatives will develop, initiate and analyze campus climate surveys. The team will share findings with UTD leadership and support action planning. This department will identify opportunities for institutional recognition of UTD’s efforts to foster a welcoming climate with external groups.

Employee Engagement
Programs 

The Department of Employee Engagement Programs will lead the campus in providing engagement opportunities for faculty and staff, particularly the Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) and the awards programs that recognize members of the UT Dallas community who help create a welcoming university climate.
